Around 1918 Clarence Larkin taught that God had created man in His image and that this image was relfected in the way that He set up the Tabernacle of the Wilderness.

Notice the three distinct departments of the Tabernacle: The Outer Court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies.
Larkin believed that these same departments were reflected in the division of a man's mind, body, and spirit.
