Introduction:
Brethren, be not deceived, the end of days will be marked by apostasy within the "status quo" church as Paul declares in 2 Thessalonians 2:1. Paul warns us of the mystery of iniquity (2:7) to stand fast and to cling to the scriptures in order to avoid the deluding influence that will come over the church. Ask yourself this, if we are in the end of days, as many prophets and evangelists interpret, then who is the "apostate church?" Ask yourself this "Whatever happened to the Ministry of Jesus? Jesus healed, delivered, and raised the dead. He came to set the captives free and destroy the works of the devil.
"The fact is that Anglicans, consciously or not, perpetually define themselves in relation to the Roman Catholic Church. It is the constant backdrop that we can never really escape. Evangelicals and Liberals tend to respond to this reality by painting themselves a contrasting color, as if to say, "See what we are not!" Anglo-Catholics are generally more chameleon-like: "See how alike we are!" But no matter how you look at it, the Roman Church is the 900-pound gorilla in the ecclesiastical jungle, and all the other animals, of whatever size, have to live and move and have their being in relation to it. (The only ones who seem not to do so are free-church evangelicals, for whom the tag "Christian" means only...well...them.)." Dan Martins (2007)
Logos defines itself upon the rock of Jesus Christ and the 1st Century Church. We do not compare or contrast ourselves to any other Church. In addition, we do not consider ourselves the "only" Christians at the party.
Logos Distinctives:
Logos is an orthodox 1st Century Church and is noted for two distinctives. First, we believe the judgment seat in Revelation 20:11 is real. The throne is a place where actual judgment takes place. Second, we do not believe in censorship. Paul admonished Timothy to hold fast to the scriptures he knew as a boy (2 Tim 3:15). The Canonization of the Bible did not come for over 300 years. To suggest that the early Church was not Orthodox is to report that the Holy Spirit is a lazy guide.
Many churches proclaim that if you are not a born-again, publicly confessed (altar call) and Baptized Christian, you will go to hell. They say that if you do not become a Christian then it is an automatic sentence to eternal damnation. We don't believe that at Logos. We believe, as the early church did, that Jesus is seen sitting on the judgment seat in the Book of Revelation and that every man/women will be judged based on their works-their heart. The Bible says that no man comes to the Father, but through the Son. The scripture tells us that Jesus sits on the throne, not Buddha, not Krishna, and not Mohammed. We don't need to hit them over the head with that fact, we only need to love them unconditionally and be a living witness and that by our testimony, draw them out of the law and into the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught not to judge lest we be judged. That is His job. We are not under the law, but grace. The beauty of being a Christian is that you don't have to go before the judgment seat. You have plea-bargained out of that horrific trial by your identification with the price paid for you by the shed blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus. He is your defense attorney, bought you with His shed blood, paid your penalty in full and He has set you free-no trial. The world will not have that blessing and they will face the terror of the judgment seat of Christ. No one will go to hell just because they did not know Christ, but because they said "no" to Christ. The tragedy is that some will bet eternity on one single event-judgment. The question is why worry, give your life to Christ now, and avoid the embarrassment.
What was the Holy Scriptures that Paul was referring to in 2 Timothy 3:10? The 1st Century Church did not have the "canonized" text and the Pilgrim's had not yet censored out the apocrypha as they did when they came to America. That came 1600 years later. In other words, the Church had the apocrypha for over 1600 years as part of the "Holy Scriptures." What did the early church consider holy writ? They read it all; Septuagint, Vulgate, Gospels, Epistles, Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha and the Deuterocanonical. Canonization did not come until the Council of Nicea over 300 years after the 1st Century Church. There was no censorship. They read the Old Testament, New Testament, Apocrypha, the Book of Jasher and Jubilees, the Epistle of Barnabus, the Book of Enoch, the Shepherd of Hermes and the writings found in the Pseudepigrapha. And why not, was the Holy Spirit a lazy guide? Was the Holy Spirit incapable of leading the Church into the 2nd Century? At the Council of Nicea, the Ecumenical Council declared that there will be no new revelation-they literally constrained the work of the Holy Spirit.
Why is the Christian Church under judgment? Because the Christian Church has declared that there is no judgment seat, condemned every uninformed and unbeliever to hell, announced that Satan and demons are not real, restricted the work of the Holy Spirit, censored Holy Scriptures and turned its back on the ministry of Jesus-Healing and Deliverance (Matthew 10). The last several years has been a litany of public embarrassment. Need I list the endless headlines of Christian indictments?
That is why we invite you to come home to a 1st Century Orthodox Christian Family Fellowship. Come and join the fallibility. Life is hard and then you laugh. Logos started in my home as a home-fellowship 20 years ago. Just like the first churches. It is modeled after the 1st Century Christian Orthodox Church doctrine the Didache. We do not believe in censorship and we encourage you to read everything you can about early Christian Church history and its literature. We recommend that you come and embrace the rich heritage of your faith. Come home and be led by the Holy Spirit. We encourage you to share the Gospel with every creature. Do not be afraid to take the Gospel to anyone or anywhere. "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind" 2 Timothy 1:7. Did you know that it is crazy not to share the love of Jesus Christ? Coming to Logos is to begin the Christian life you have always wanted: A walk with Christ that is the simple Christian life (The WAY). A life of study, prayer, intercession, outreach, worship, revelation and fellowship in the joy of the Holy Spirit. Logos is a place you can raise your children up in the love and Word of the Lord.
The Trinity:
At Logos we believe in the Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. We believe that God made us in His image; mind, body and spirit. We believe that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. We believe that His promise to us is that we become the Sons and daughters of God. Therefore, Jesus is fully God and fully man or else we could not become the Sons of God. We will be changed in the twinkling of an eye to be transformed physically in His image. We are fully man and we become fully the Sons and Daughters of God.
